The use of Farsi language on the forum - Temporary rule

Attention all members;

While most Iranians can read and write Farsi, presently many of the threads posted using the Farsi language are not receiving any attention and barely any contribution to the thread by other members.

I can tell you personally from experience on other - mostly English speaking - forums, designated "Farsi Language only" sub-forum, mostly ends up with the accumulation of threads that are left unread and with no feedback. Nonetheless, this is one option we may allow in the future.

Effective immediately - and until further notice - members are not permitted to start threads using the Farsi language.

In the future, we will look into allowing the use of the Farsi language on the forum, until then we ask all members to please uphold this temporary rule. I'm leaving this thread open for discussions and ideas.

I think you should still be able to post Farsi links in other threads, if the news hasn't been translated in English yet and just tell people briefly what is said in that article. Many Iranian news sites publish their articles in Farsi before it's translated in English, so if we're in the middle of a discussion and you'd like to update people, than that shouldn't be a problem. But look out to see if you can find the same story in English, first, though.
